It has been suggested that as many as 1 in 4 people in the UK have had or have got credit issues that would probably prevent them from obtaining a mortgage.
In some cases the problem is very minor and it is possible to be completely unaware that you have credit issues until you are declined for a mortgage application.
Many people have had problems in the past, but have maintained their credit perfectly in the last few years, even if discharged from bankruptcy.
If the above sounds like you then it is very likely we can help.
A few years ago there were a considerable number of Lenders offering mortgages to all but those with the very worst credit rating. Whether county couty judgements (CCJ's), Defaults or discharged from bankruptcy these were often known as Sub Prime or impaired credit mortgages.
Events over the last few years though have meant that Lenders have taken a much more cautious view. The level of impaired credit allowable has reduced and you will need a bigger deposit than before or if a remortgage the maximum a Lender will consider against your property has reduced.
Solutions though are still available & there are signs that more Lenders are returning to the market.
Today, there are far fewer Lenders offering impaired credit mortgages but these Lenders are now actively Lending. Some of these Lenders are specialist Lenders available only through Brokers, whereas other Lenders are High Street Lenders whose criteria is more relaxed than others
We understand impaired mortgages & will take a sympathetic view of your situation. If it is possible to find you a mortgage solution we will do so.
